The Champion X Single comes in three hull sizes: 55-69 kg capacity; 70-84 kg capacity and 85 kg and up. The deck is a one piece carbon, Kevlar honeycomb composite with BBG red color for the deck and cockpit. The hull is clear coated in the mold just like the Olympia X. The small hulls are just under FISA limit, the mediumn hulls are at FISA weight and the large hulls are just slightly over FISA weight (~ 1 lb.) The boats have about same stiffness as the BBG Olympia single (i.e., which is stiffer than an Empacher).
We still have several 2007 models in stock of each of the three hull. You can still get a brand new BBG Champion X rigged to your specifications.
We are extremely impressed by mirror like finish and attention to detail of the BBG boat builders. We feel that there is no other boat on the market today with the same level of fit and finish. This racing shell is a great value for the price (i.e., target price is $7K) and should appeal to all levels of serious competitors and people that appreciate the highest quality in a product.
It also has a 2005 three-way adjustable carbon foot stretchers with our red and black rowing shoes, carbon tubular riggers with competition insert oarlocks, a carbon seat, a carbon fin (choice of sailboard type or parallelogram type), adjustable tracks and a tool kit with spare metric hardware and tools. Optional items, at additional cost, include New Wave Shoes, a spare Al fin, Magik scull locks, padded Sunbrella boat cover, padded rigger bag, pitch meter (two styles available), Dreher Sculls (any model), NK Electronics and wiring, slings, etc.
